56 • The comprehensive documentation of constructive criticism.

In order to gain valuable comprehensive feedback regarding my ideas, for a music video. I decided to Pitch the ideas to our full media group. I created a presentation showcasing my ideas supported by images, movies and gifs. I found that using these visual elements helped me in providing a vivid explanation of each idea I pitched.

Baby • Pierre Dozin
The existential crisis of perfection, or ( Beauty is the only thing )

• The audiance did not fully realise the potential in using provocative imagery to evoke emotional disturbance and impact.
• They found the idea too controversial, not fully understanding the subtle nuances that underpinned the creative flow of the video.
The following is additional information which the audiance could not comprehend. ( Justification for the creation of art )

We see a ‘perfect’ young girl, standing in the dark, isolated. She is the subject. He is the author of her perfection. The camera is used almost like a battering ram, subjecting the model to constant flashing, from the camera's flash Illuminating her whole body in pure energy. Every flash creates a new scar ( a visual representation of vulnerability seeping through the gaps of flesh ), in an attempt to represent the slowly degrading nature that is fashion. Almost conveying disposability. Like on a aeroplane, filled with single use objects, one portion of milk, one disposable cup etc. Using the constant cuts between the model and the author in a way that constructs the author as a omnipotent creature in control of this girls dreams.
I would like the use the effect of a prism mirror to allow for the subject to be seen on screen in three positions at once. Every shot continues the constant degrading of this objectification of perfection/beauty. Until we reach the climax of the aural drop. The cuts are interlaced with provocative imagery. Using a high speed camera, shooting in a very high frame rate. I wish to create a visualisation for this abuse. Showing the audience the unseen side of modelling. I envisage glitter being fired toward the model. In super slow motion, this is in an attempt to show the audience that, only once you truly dissect the media that we are presented with, can you see the true effects that the pursuit of perfection causes.
These ideas did not meet the groups criteria, after much discussion this idea was cut. Due to an 'UnClear' story line and no visual interest.

Porcelain - Arty Remix • Moby, Arty
The visual representation provided by a candle burning at both ends, or ( Burn bright, burn fast )

• The biggest problem people found with this idea, was the health and safety aspect of the film. Fireworks are dangerous. The studio does not allow this. The studio is in control, you must follow the studio.
• Unfortunately seeing as the fireworks played an essential part of the production of the film, the feedback I received, was very much supporting the concern of the safety of giving children fireworks. As this can cause some serious problems if there was an accident with one of the fireworks.
• It was for this reason that I had to scrap this idea.

The reasonable fact of safety was a necessary precaution, fireworks can cause harm and this was something the studio did not what to be held accountable for.
